June Playlist

Here's my June playlist! My favorite so far.
This playlist has a summery vibe, and the songs are mostly happier than they have been in past playlists.

Don't let all the artists that you might not recognize scare you away! Some artists they could be compared to are The Kooks, The Lumineers, The Avett Brothers, Ed Sheeran (although I have a personal distate for him), Vampire Weekend, and more.

I'm doing the playlist through Spotify because that's what I use. And thank God for Spotify.

You should also know I have a serious playlisting issue. I have sixteen playlists in use, as well as a group of 'Retired' playlists and 'Subscribies.' It's getting out of hand.

Burlington!

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't made a post in a while. I've been really busy and haven't had much chance to take photos/edit/write.

These photos were taken my my friend Carrie in Burlington, when we went a few weekends ago. We also went thrifting at the Goodwill, and I got lots of wonderful things. But that's for a later post!

This hat is a gift from Carrie, the dress is Forever 21, and the scarf was also a gift from Carrie.

I Dare You To Buy A Hat

I think everybody deserves to own a hat like this. At first I thought I looked terrible in hats, but after a few friends told me otherwise, I looked in the mirror and reconsidered. Hey, who cares if I look bad in them? I'll wear them if I want to!
And I want to.
(And you'll have to excuse my messy hair.)

What's better than lilacs? Than a vintage Coke bottle?
...Lilacs in a vintage Coke bottle?
And there you have it.

Beauty

I wrote this poem during my trip to Ecuador in April, after returning from a hike in the mountains. Being there inspired me more than anything ever has before.

May Playlist

May Playlist by Libby Green on Grooveshark

Every month I make myself a playlist of about 20 - 30 songs to listen to for that month only. I began this with the idea that I would listen to these songs so much, stop listening to them all together, come back in several months/years and listen to them again, and let them revive old memories.

So today I present to you my favorites of my May playlist. You can also find the entire Spotify playlist    here.

A few necessary words

I have a few things to say in this post:

First, you'll have to bear with me. As I've just began blogging, I'm still trying to figure it all out. One of the hardest things for me is my voice. I'm trying to figure out how to type while sounding like myself. I feel like my posts in the past haven't all sounded exactly like me.

Along the same lines, I'm still trying to figure out how to make my blog look nicer. This will be an ongoing process.

Lastly, comment! Even if it's nothing exciting, even just one word, I would love to get some feedback. Tell me what you want more of (Photography? Poetry? Clothing? Self-posts? Music?)! Tell me what's good and what's bad, and be 100% honest. Tell me about yourself! I'd love to hear what my readers are like.

Thank you all!

Libby

Beachwear

I took a class trip to Nantucket last week for four days. We had the most incredible weather, and spent a good portion of time at the beach. We searched for shells (I made windchimes from these shells for mother's day), explored, swam, and played music by the campfire.

There's a certain Nantucket clothing style that can almost be summed up in one word: expensive.
Being an island, the style is of course nautical-inspired. Stripes, blues and reds and whites, delicate sweaters, boat shoes, you get the picture. Typical preppy. The kind of clothing that goes along with Vampire Weekend.
I like the preppy style, but it's not for me at all. I wore these highwaisted black shorts (Nordstrom Rack), a leather belt (American Eagle), a red and white striped shirt (Nordstrom Rack, and a hat (a gift from a lovely friend). Channelling preppy without actually being there. I think this'll be one of my 'recycle outfits,' one that I wear again and again.
